yes, gasoline is transfered to the service stations by diesel trucks. Yes, fuel for any trucking company is a big expense. No, it’s not a reason for the high cost of gasoline. The tankers move so much that they cost of fuel divided by the # of gallons they are moving is very small.

The price of fuel (diesel or unleaded) is based on the stock market and OPEC.

the driver doesnt pay for their fuel, the company that delivers it does.

Nothing is free. They are contract carriers,like all trucks you see on the highway. They get paid so much a load,usually by the mile. In some cases where the distance is short they have a minimum delivery charge.All commercial vehicles are required to pay an annual highway heavy use tax to the IRS,before they can get or renew their registration they are taxed on every mile they run in each state in which they run Their registration is based on how many states they will run and how much weight they can carry,this gets expensive very quick.They like you pay additional tax at the pump .for every gallon they purchase.Then there is insurance collision liability and cargo coverage. Their rising cost of their fuel is passed along to you. Your gas food clothing toys cell phones i pods every thing you own is at some point carried by truck.right now several large trucking companies are going out of business in the US. As this happens the cost of transporting these items will go up due to the lack of competition again getting in your pocket.Hope this helps you better understand the rising cost of everything.

fuel is a supply and demand issue.and no that expense is not higher because of it being diesel the companies pay for the fuel used but the expense is the taxes we pay and the $%$holes we have in government to PROTECT us and do our speaking

Besides the cost per barrel of oil, one of the biggest reasons for the high cost of fuel is the state and federal taxes on each gallon.

Yes, they pay for diesel fuel.

No, $5 is not a high amount.

Do some research, and see how much fuel has been over the last 50 years or so. Ignore the dollar value, just adjust it for inflation. There have been times where diesel has been as high as $8 a gallon, in today’s money.

So really….it’s no big deal at all.
