I would hope if the power steering goes out while a person is driving they would use there head and use both hands to turn…but most people who drive cobalts are kids….and they love to drive with one hand on the wheel and one on the phone….but just the same I hope someone is smart enough to shift the car into N….if they dont same on them either way….and to you sr….have a good day and good luck….by the way what car do you own?

  2. jasondakins says:

I have spent too much time on this video. Neither of us will convince the other to change their views on this subject. You can respond as many times as you want, but I feel I have made my point known and you have made yours. I say good luck and good day.

  3. jasondakins says:

Turning the wheel harder and putting a car in N are two different things. The wheel doesn’t just come to a complete stop it just becomes harder to turn. The natural reaction would be be try harder to turn the wheel. When a car isn’t stopping, most people wouldn’t know what to do. The natural thing would be to stomp on the brakes, but if the brakes don’t over power the acceleration of the car, that won’t work.

  4. jasondakins says:

Well unless you planned to swerve into traffic in the first place you shouldn’t have too much of a problem. They are smaller cars so they shouldn’t be that hard to steer without the assist. Humans can operate a car without power steering. A fraction of a second of panic would occur because of surprise, but I would hope that people would be smart enough to use both hands and turn the wheel with force.

  5. mrtoyota365 says:

but I guess that would be the same as your pedal not working….if you feel that you can power your way through it with your god given muscels then you might make it through…and if your pedal sticks…one would hope you us the brain inside the head on your neck….and shit it to N….I see that as a fair way to view it…given your muscle comment

  6. mrtoyota365 says:

second….if you can READ….or are as intelligent as you claim…you would have read if your driving at highway speeds and your in traffic….what would happen if traffic starts to slow down…from the moment you apply the brakes and start slowing down your power steering begins to tighten for emergency driving conditions….where you might need to make some sudden turns to avoid maybe an accident…if the power steering goes and your not expecting that to happen you PANIC…the out come…?

  7. mrtoyota365 says:

First go to the NHTSA website and search what im talking about and you will see people with ford trucks and other vehicles are saying they have had situations with a sticky pedal in there vehicles….and you can google jeep sudden acceleration and read all about it…funny you need me to tell you how to find that info…but you seem to know where to go and did dirt on Toyota…

  8. jasondakins says:

It took all of 10 seconds to find an article stating that Ford had issued a software fix. It’s not a sticky accelerator pedal, it’s a problem with regenerative braking on their hybrid cars. I have yet to see anything about Jeep. If you can find me an article, I will read it.

  9. jasondakins says:

Yes I can, that the public has the wool over it’s eyes. Toyota’s quality has been going downhill ever since the decided to take GM’s spot at the top. They sacrificed quality in order to make a quick buck and move more cars. This is what GM and Ford did in the 80′s and look what happened to them. However, they learned and now they are making some of the best cars in the industry. You better hope Toyota gets its head back on straight.

  10. jasondakins says:

Clearly you need to re-read what I posted. ONLY AT LOW SPEEDS WILL POWER STEERING IMPUT MAKE A NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE. If you are driving FAST, the power steering input is almost ZERO!

  11. mrtoyota365 says:

If your driving down the road and something happens to your power steering and you PANIC then yes as well as anything else….can you please get back to me on the FORD having the same sticky pedle issue and brake issue…or JEEP having the same sticky pedle issue….can you give me any feed back on that please:-)

  12. jasondakins says:

@mrtoyota365 maybe you should know that Toyota has been getting complaints about power steering failures on the Corollas as well. It was announced recently that they might do a recall on those as well. If you honestly feel that it’s a life threatening problem, then that’s TWO so far for Toyota this year.

  13. mrtoyota365 says:

Funny…If you can read then read what I wrote….if you dont expect to lose your power steering and your going 80 MPH and your in traffic or in a turn on the highway….YOU COULD LOSE YOUR LIFE….if your in traffic how fast are you driving ASS….I bet the same thing happens to someone who has the sticky peadle…..PANIC happens….and that could lead up to anything…..DEATH or just a bumper to bumper….how dumb do you have to be not to shit your car into N if that happens….ANSWER THAT

  14. jasondakins says:

I read very well thank you. Also, I am intelligent to know that at higher speeds, power steering has almost no affect on steering input. It is only at slower speeds that you a loss of power steering would become noticeable. You clearly are too ignorant for this conversation so I will leave you to bask in your own clouded mind.

  15. mrtoyota365 says:

If you could read….you will see what im talking about….DUHHHH…..every auto maker has voluntary recalls….but that dosent mean they are liers….and your the same guy that says if the power steering goes out that your life is not in danger….get in touch with life….if you dont expect to lose your power steering and your going 80 MPH and your in traffic or in a turn on the highway….YOU COULD LOSE YOUR LIFE….I hate when people talk dumb stuff…cuz they think they know it all…u dont

  16. jasondakins says:

GM has issued MANY voluntary recalls. You seem so out of touch with the auto industry it’s ridiculous.

  17. mrtoyota365 says:

and you still have not been able to give me one auto group that has not with held info about there cars to save face…..I dont like the punch line game your playin give me the stuff I asked….But I guess your sayin ford has a free ride b/c the people that own there cars can just come out of pocket and I guess that would mean the same for chevy….But if you own a Toyota…Toyota will take care of that so you wont have to

  18. mrtoyota365 says:

Forgot one word VOLUNTARY…I guess the diff. is with toyota they have always taken the lead and fixed any issue that might occure with there vehicles….but the only mandated recall is the gas pedal…but still nothing from chevy…and Ford has the same brake issue with the fusion that you have heard nothing about….NAIL EM TO THE CROSS….just say it….you know you wana…

  19. TheMadSyrupMaker says:

New Toyota recall, the Tacoma 4-wheel drive.

A crack can form in the rear joint, causing the driveshaft to come loose from the truck. Obviously, this defect will only affect four-wheel drive models, so standard two-wheel drive Tacomas are left out of the recall.

  20. mrtoyota365 says:

Just like Edwards when he ran for pres…who knew he was the guy who he turned out to be….but for years he was put into office and played it off like he was some good guy….I guess Tiger woods is in the same group…but at the end of the day Im sure edwards did some good in office and Tiger is still one of the best Golfers to date….And Toyota at the end of the day still leads the game with the best cars trucks and SUVs….and they still dominate in Hybrid..can you say anything about that?

  21. mrtoyota365 says:

Funny guy…funny…Bring them on everyone of them…that just allows me to get back infront of my customers and serve them….LIE to people…I would say with holding information…but name one auto company that has not done the same…I know you wont be able to…NOT A CHANCE….the car biz is just like the gov…everybody wants to look good and win the popular vote by the consumer…when they are made out to be something else…they want to fight to protect what they built…

  22. mrtoyota365 says:

and please tell me about the jeep issue doing the same thing…Find out where they have issued a fix for that issue…I know you wont be able to….lol…Talk about a cover up….lol…and you talk about toyota…I never heard of any auto company will to admit there has been some kind of issue with there product….YET TO HEAR ABOUT IT…take honda with the air bag issue…ive had people trade out of there honda because they keep dealing with the same issue….what do you have to say about honda

  23. mrtoyota365 says:

No deaths as you know of….if someone dies in a crash a investigation happens…people can say oh they where texting or on the phone or young driver or drunk….if you followed the car biz…not just for the last couple of days…but realy followed it….name one auto company that has had a problem and issued a recall on the first complaint…NONE…but they still go around trying to cover up and fix a problem b4 it gets out of control

  24. jasondakins says:

“The NHTSA has recorded 11 crashes and one injury attributed to the power steering failure, with potentially 905,000 vehicles affected by the investigation. There have been NO DEATHS reported.” Can Toyota make the same claim?

  25. jasondakins says:

You are lying to the customer and hiding problems that the car had in the first place. The reason Toyota hasn’t announced a recall in so long is because they refuse to admit when something is wrong. That is deceiving to the customer. When you have been lying for 50 years you do all you can to hide it. This is exactly why the US and Japanese governments had to legally FORCE Toyota to admit to the problems and issue a recall.
