If you have ever had your cell phone under your seat ringing, then you need this. I was given a sample at a conference and was hooked. This simple mat is one of the best things for drivers and cell phones and more. Just place it on the flat part of your dash, put you phone on it and you can turn all the corners you want the phone stays put. It is also great for coins for toll roads. Just lay out you coins and you are ready. I bought one for each of my employees.

I picked up one of these at a local Target and was so pleased I purchased two more, online, for my wife’s dashboard, which has a “shelf” for holding more stuff than my curved dash which currently only holds my cell phone. She needs lots of help organizing and maintain her “stuff” and this will be very useful in that capacity.

First, the kit comes with no instructions whatsoever. Go to www.ledglow.com, click on Tech Support, and find the instructions for your particular kit.

Second, the kit was designed assuming you want to connect to your fuse panel or directly to your car battery. They claim you can use your car cigarette lighter but as far as I can tell this requires a special adapter that isn’t provided and is not sold anywhere on Amazon.

i have a set of these in my truck. i have the inside of the glove box plexiglassed with the control pad inside. the wires are a little on the short side, so youll have to add wire on your own to run anything more than 2-3 foot away from your pad. but the lights are really bright and for the price i would suggest these to everybody… i will have pics up reall soon.

The AAA traveler road assistance kit is a waste — of space, money, and materials. Luckily I bought this for in a clearance bin at my local sporting goods store. If I had bought it for I would have been outraged. The emergency supplies are the worst quality imaginable, the flashlight is pathetically weak, even the bag it comes in isn’t very good quality. The only reason this kit deserves even one star is because you can’t buy this kind of “storage” bag and a pair of jumper cables for less than the I paid. Save your money, and piece the kit together yourself.

Way below expectation. “63″ piece ad is a deceiving trick. Bad. They count a single band aid as a piece to make the whole package a 63-piece item. It is like an illusion. I felt cheated.

This is a great little case that belongs in every car in the world. It keeps a MagLite, pen, insurance card, small map, and some service records at my fingertips without loose clutter in my glovebox. I’ve given many as gifts and I recommend it to anyone who likes organization.

These mats are sturdy and seem to be made well. I was most concerned that the mats would lie flat and not roll up under the brake and gas pedals like another cheap set I bought elsewhere.

These were perfect! You can hardly force these to roll up. They were even shipped flat. A great price, too! I would highly recommend.

Two problems keep me from rating this very inexpensive car USB charger higher:

1. The charger that I received doesn’t appear to be the same charger pictured on the product description. (eg., completely different molded body, glass tube fuse instead of plastic-encased fuse.)

2. It won’t charge my iPhone properly. After some testing with a multimeter, it seems the output is close to 6 VDC, despite being labeled as 5 VDC +/- 5%, which would be a max. voltage of 5.25 VDC.

Overall, it’s not worthless. Other less sensitive USB-powered products may be able to be charged by this.

I bought two of these, both fell apart (literally) within several weeks of infrequent use. Even when they worked, they never worked reliably and required connstant twisting and turning and pushing to get a connection. The whole thing looked like they were put together by a child (no, I’m just talking figuratively and not implying what you think I’m implying about Chinese labor, which is a whole different issue). A gentle squeeze, the thing goes squeaky and shaky. Unlike most other car adapters, this one doesn’t have a snugly fit into the cigarette lighter. It is just so wobbly everywhere. Avoid such low quality products to keep your life sane.

An update: I subsequently purchased a few Universal Mini USB Car Charger Adapters offered by Eforcity (search Amazon or eBay). What a difference. The Universal Mini USB Car Charger Adapters is exactly what this product should be made alike. Solid, compact, and reliable. Both are inexpensive Chinese made products, but one is total junk and other a gem.

I agree with the other reviewers who said this product needs an o-ring. I found it very difficult to get it to seal on the tire valve stem, but with the o-ring it works perfectly. (Why they don’t manufacture it that way I don’t know). But by getting an inexpensive o-ring from Ace Hardware you have a product that is outstanding. Another reviewer said the size o-ring he bought was 1/4 x 1/8 x 1/16. However I found this size was too small and didn’t fit. I had to get 5/16 x 3/16 x 1/16, and it’s a perfect fit. And with tax it cost me a mere .18 cents. An easy modification well worth it.

The Accutire “Setpoint Tire Gauge,” model MS-4350B from “MSI Sensors” (aka “MS-4350: Digital Set Point Programmable…” from “Measurement Specialties”), UPC 1550710566, has seven nice features. First, it’s easy to hold. The bottom of the larger-than-usual body is rubberized, and the shape allows you to firmly press it onto a tire valve stem with a thumb. Second, there is an LED light activated by a big round button on the back. Third, the screen is backlit and the numbers are large. Fourth, there is no need to turn it on/off. Instead, you can push the nozzle onto the valve, and it displays the measurement; about 15 seconds later, it turns itself off. Fifth, it beeps when an accurate reading is taken. Sixth, the two CR2032 lithium batteries will presumably last a long time, and can be replaced if they wear out. Finally, if you keep forgetting how much air is needed, you can program separate front & rear target pressures.

UNFORTUNATELY, it’s hard to obtain a solid seal on valves. It’s the same problem noted here and in reviews of “Accutire MS-4000B Deluxe Backlit Lithium Digital Tire Gauge” on Amazon.com. One September 24, 2004, review there by “Crazy Dude” says “because you’re pressing plastic (the gauge) against metal (the tire air stem), you must hold it perfectly flush or air will escape, making a reading difficult to get.”

So to improve my gauge I more-or-less followed the instructions of “Crazy Dude,” which were: “I used ’3M Scotch linerless rubber splicing tape.’ The thickness is important. I used .03 in. (.761mm). I wouldn’t go any thicker. … All you need to do is cut it to the diameter of the inside of the gauge’s mouth, then cut out a small hole for the air hole.”

Since my home has no rubber tape, I took a wide pink rubber band (from a bunch of broccoli) about 0.75mm thick. I cut a gasket about 7.5mm diameter with a 3mm hole and glued it in place. Now it works like a charm. If you have the time to make this modification, buy it from Amazon.com!

It’s too bad that the previous reviewer had such a negative experience. These work great for us! Maybe the clean windows on our new mini-van was a factor in successful installation?

Pros:

1) Setup was super quick. I was even able to peel and reapply in order to reposition/straighten the shade. The shades have never fallen off or started peeling at the edges, though we’ve only had them up maybe 4+ months.

2) Fabulous at keeping out sunlight, better than the roller shades that suction to the windows because it actually shades or dims the light rather than diffusing the brightness through tiny holes like the suction kind.

3) Since they’re static clings, we can put up 2 shades side-by-side in our mini-van and not have any gaps like we had when we had 2 suction roller shades next to each other.

4) We can actually roll down the window with these on, without wrinkling the shade (or worrying about suction cups popping off. Btw, one of our suction shades won’t even stick to the window anymore). But we don’t really roll down those windows, anyway, so I can’t speak to its durability after frequent opening/closing.

Cons:

1) Can only think of one; as it is quite effective in keeping out light, it can be a bit dark to see out of, particularly at night, (or on gray, rainy days) and with a mini-van, I need to be extra careful about checking my blindspot. (Thus, 4 stars).

** EDIT/UPDATE **

After such a great experience with the first set, we purchased another set back in January. However, they didn’t seem to have as much “cling”, and didn’t last 12 hours before they fell right off.

As suspected, it turns out that the cold Chicago weather was the culprit! After waiting for the weather to warm up, I’m happy to report success! My husband cleaned the windows (just as a precaution), and was able to re-install the shades despite the fact that they were practically crumpled on the floor of our mini-van for a number of weeks before we rolled them up again to store for the remainder of the winter.

LESSON: Don’t install these in the dead of Chicago winter! Btw, we’ve never had any problems with the first set, even throughout the winter (they were installed in Aug/Sept). This second set is looking pretty good so far (it’s been about a month).

** Update #2 **

Sep 2007: Since installing our first set 2 years ago, our 2nd set last summer, and our 3rd set a couple months ago (with the arrival of #3), we have not touched the shades since they went up and they are still working great. Perhaps a couple tiny bubbles here and there, but haven’t had to do anything! (Still don’t roll down the windows). If anything changes, I’ll update, but they seem to be going strong.

I was so excited to try out this product. My son would always pull the roll up shades off the windows while I was driving, and they just didn’t block out enough sun. These shades are pretty dark. So be extra careful when driving at night to look behind you. Before installing them on your windows make sure your car is cool inside and clean the windows really good with window cleaner. Have some patience. If your windows have any curve to them you’ll have some bubbles to work out. But once they are on they stay put. I’ve had my shades for a few months now in my car and they have not peeled off yet. And my son doesn’t pay any attention to them.
