2010 GMC Terrain: Huge Center Console Not Really That Useful

I'm not sure if I really like the Terrain's gigantic center console or not. I mean, on one hand, if I needed to stow away something large, like say, a side of beef, it would fit quite easily in this handy compartment. On the other hand, if I had a bunch of small stuff to organize, putting it inside this console would feel like throwing it all down a manhole, it's that deep.
There is a small bin that snaps into the top of this compartment, but it sort of defeats the whole purpose of having so much space to work with. The engineers did a great job of carving out the space, but they didn't do so well when it came time to designing a console that would make the best use of it.
