The people of Japan use these fish to feed themselves and fertilizer. Eating fish is part of the Japanese culture. But the protesters do not like the killing of dolphins and complain the way the fish are harvested. How come they only protest in Japan? Because the people in Japan are polite and the Euro-trash take advantage of the polite Japanese culture. How come this same Euro-trash can not be found in a Texas steak house protesting a Texas trying to eat his or her steak? Where are the protested in Little Italy in lower Manhattan, New York City, when an Italian is eating veal parmesan? Veal, the meat from a calf. Where are these brave protesters when Native Americans in Alaska go on a whale hunt?

First of all, dolphins are not fish, they are mammals. Second, the difference between a texan’s steak and a dolphin is pretty clear: the steak is farmed, the dolphin is not. I don’t really give a fuck if japan eats all the dolphins and wales (which will probably happen eventually). If they hunt them to extinction and start starving the rest of the world can point and say, “We told you so.”

@8Q1Z7Z8Q you got to understand that all in all, it was japans fault. Yes, we wont forget the tragedies that happened in nagasaki and hiroshima, but also understand that the US gave japan a chance to show a nuclear bomb demonstration and to step down from the war, which they refused..

新聞が未だ社会的な地位と信用があった時代の事・・・っていうか、日本人自体が新聞神話を勝手に思い描いて信じていただけで、株式会社の利益最優先と功利追求の広告料宣伝事業で莫大な利益を背景に冨を気づいていた時代の事。

イルカ・クジラ漁の問題が出てくるときに不思議に思うこと。
環境保護の視点でやめるべきという意見に対してなのだけど。
もし、漁を一切やめて、クジラやイルカが増えたとしよう。
海の食の頂点たるこの2種が増えたら他の魚大丈夫なのだろうか？
特にくじらは食べる量って半端じゃない気がする。
絶滅の危険はわかるけれど、一つの種が増えたら増えたで生態系が変化するのは免れないと思う。
よっぽどの危機に瀕している種以外は、バランスを見ながら漁獲量を調整するほうが利口なんじゃないだろうか。

@22saiyan22 I am glad they do not eat them as their Mercury content is extremely high and I believe that many people back in the 50′s suffered from Minimata disease.
If whales and dolphins are killed for nothing, that is appalling. Although I do not eat meat, cows are consumed for food, their hides for leather, etc. I find it ridiculous to kill for nothing. Perhaps if it was a matter food but why would I want to consume something that will kill me quickly and harm my children.

@diehardperryfan um just to tell u most ppl dont eat dolphins/whales. only few villages that has the tradition eats them…
most of the whales killed are just killed for nothin…
so i guess u dont have to worry bout the mercury.
its just that some countries think its really cruel to kill whales…but is it? i seriouslyy dont understand ppl who think its different from killin cows and etc….but i kinda understand cuz i would think its bad if someone ate my dog…
